It’s not that we’re short of friends as such. We both have mates at work that we’re with all day. We have friends that we don’t see very often because of work schedules. We have my best friend who is now OUR friend. But that’s it really.
We both left school and didn’t really keep in touch with many people. And it’s hard when you’re our age just to go out and meet people. So how do we do it?
I so understand. Brian and I don’t have friends. We have family and work friends and I have some girlfriends. But we don’t have any friends we go out with as a couple. It’s weird.
Well if we lived there you know we would be there in a heart beat!
Hello?
In 4 weeks I won’t be “friend at work” V and I will be “friends”.
We can always set up a night out 🙂
How do you do it? I’m always here at the end of the keyboard/phone/MSN. V is the same. Just hit that funky send button.
No friends?! A nice girl like you?! I don’t believe it! Unfortunately, just like coming out or handing in your notice, it’s just one of those things you have to bite the bullet and do. Perhaps join something – I know it sounds naff but it’s a really good way to meet people and chances are they’ll have similar interests to you.
Church and picnics are where we meet most couples. Mom always said if you wanted a friend…you had to find them in one of three ways. Your kids (which you don’t have yet), your hobbies or a common enemy!
For me, it’s hard to meet friends! I’ve met most of my new friends here from church and work, and then there’s my neighbors.
well short off adultfriendfinder lol, i would look for clubs which have something in common with an interst and then go from there
It’s actually amazing how when you stop looking for something, it finds you!
it’s not easy. most of my friends are people i’ve met through work, but the media is notoriously incestuous. i wish i knew more people who did something different! how about a fun evening class like wine tasting?
Go take dancing lessons. I think couples do that. Or go to a cooking class and look for someone that appears to be married. Strike up a convo and make friends. Wine tastings, charity events, game nights…lots of ways!
Ooo, dance lessons would be fun! We are in the same boat, either people from church or, well that’s pretty much it…
